Common Questions
How do I add items?
Tap the + button on the dashboard. Enter the product name, pick a category and storage location, set the expiry date, and save. Pro users can also scan barcodes to fill in the product name automatically.
How does barcode scanning work?
With Expiry Pro, tap the scanner icon to open the barcode scanner. Point your camera at a product barcode and the app will look up the product name using the Open Food Facts database. If a product isn't found, you can enter the name manually and the app will remember it for next time.
How do notifications work?
Expiry Pro sends you reminders before items expire. You can choose one or more reminder windows (1, 3, or 7 days) in Settings. Notifications are scheduled locally on your device — make sure notifications are enabled in your device settings.
How do I restore my Pro purchase on a new device?
Expiry Pro is a monthly subscription linked to your Apple ID. If you switch devices or reinstall the app, use the Restore Purchases button and sign in with the same Apple ID to reactivate Pro.
What's the difference between Free and Pro?
The free version lets you track up to 5 items with manual entry. Expiry Pro unlocks unlimited items, barcode scanning, batch mode (scan multiple items in a row), and smart expiry notifications with a monthly subscription.
